Saddam Haftar the son of Libyan general Khalifa Haftar

On Monday, Israeli media revealed that Saddam Haftar carried a message from his father, Khalifa Haftar, to "Israel" requesting Israeli political and military assistance in exchange for his pledge to establish future diplomatic relations between "Israel" and Libya.

The Israeli expert on Arab affairs, Yoni Ben-Menachem, tweeted: "The son of Libyan leader Khalifa Haftar arrived in Israel a few days ago in order to ask for help," adding that "Saddam Haftar arrived in Israel carrying a message from his father asking for military assistance." In return, he pledged to establish future diplomatic relations between Libya and "Israel."

Last week, the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, published a report in which it discussed the visit of the son of Libyan General Haftar to "Israel", saying that Saddam Haftar landed in "Israel" carrying a message from his father requesting Israeli military and political assistance, and in return, he pledged to establish diplomatic relations in the future between Libya and “Israel”.

According to the newspaper, Haftar’s visit lasted for an hour and a half and included meetings with unspecified security agencies, which were held at Ben Gurion Airport, east of "Tel Aviv."

Last Monday, a private plane belonging to a person close to Khalifa Haftar, departed from Dubai Airport and landed in "Tel Aviv," according to Israeli journalist Itay Blumenthal.

The official Israeli radio, Kan, said that a special plane (P4-RMA) used by the men of Libyan General Khalifa Haftar, who controls eastern Libya, will land at "Ben Gurion airport".

Kan added that Haftar has been repeatedly accused of receiving Israeli assistance.

In turn, Haaretz indicated that there was no comment from Haftar nor the Israeli side regarding the plane belonging to Haftar's men,” noting that “there are no diplomatic relations between “Israel” and Libya."
