Iran's presidential candidate Ebrahim Raisi

Iran’s presidential candidate, Ebrahim Raisi, announced that the ministers who will take over the affairs in his government, if he wins the elections, are from the people, have a revolutionary character, in addition to their opposition to corruption.

In a statement to reporters, Raisi said, "Smuggling, especially organized smuggling, must be addressed. So far, we have done little so in tackling the issue of smuggling. The roots of smuggling must be addressed in the government."

He then added, "The financial and monetary system of the country must be reconsidered so that smuggling would not attain profits to the smuggler. Also, to prevent smuggling, foreign currency obtained from exports must be a part of the production cycle in a way that would achieve prosperity. In addition, exploiting foreign currency towards brokerage would lead to the exacerbation of organized smuggling.”

Raisi considered that most of the corruption and smuggling files that are submitted to the judiciary are due to the lack of timely initiative and the absence of proper monitoring by the government. ”He added that: “the next government will reform this process by linking the electronic systems of the Central Bank and the Ministry of Economy, in addition to marine ports and organizations, in order to directly supervise all the monetary and commodity transactions in the country."

In response to a question concerning which promises will be prioritized if he assumes the presidency, he said that he will work hard to solve the housing problem, especially for young people and young married couples.

Raisi stressed that eliminating corruption and special privileges is the second immediate measure he will take in the upcoming government, stating that: "all those who want to work with the people's government should know that it will be an anti-corruption government."

The presidential candidate considered that having a revolutionary spirit and supporting anti-corruption are the characteristics he looks for in the ministers of his government, adding that "everyone should know that the people's government does not bear any corruption and we will not allow any corruption to nest in any administration."

Referring to his program concerning social differences, he said, "Our revolution came to implement justice... His Eminence the Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized in a statement the implementation of justice. Khomeini’s orders and directives will be ingrained in the work of the next government to achieve transformation."

He added that "if the opportunities are fairly divided, citizens will feel comfortable."

On Sunday, Raisi urged maximum participation in the upcoming presidential elections, stressing that the elections promote stability and national security in the country.

Raisi, in his statement during a meeting with former deputies in Tehran, said that the Iranian citizens want to bring about a change in the government and improve living conditions.

He added, "The next government will be based on the votes of the public. Also, maximum participation in the elections constitutes support for the regime and the national security of the country, regardless of the candidate's identity."

Raisi also pointed out that many experts believe that it is possible to manage the country's affairs in a better way than it is now, according to the capabilities and human resources available in Iran, stressing that the next government will do its utmost to change the current situation in the interest of the people.

He noted that he is running for president in favor of finding a change in the executive authority and the methods of managing the country's affairs, indicating that the next government would follow Imam Khomeini's approach.

He also stressed that the statement of the "second step of the revolution" issued by the Iranian leader is the amendment of the next government and that he will exert every effort in implementing this statement to achieve prosperity and the country's development.
