Algerian Prime Minister Ayman Ben Abdul Rahman said on Friday that "strengthening strategic relations between the Arab world and China would contribute to the emergence of a multipolar world away from unilateral policies and hegemonic endeavors."

In his speech at the first China-Arab summit in Riyadh, Abdul Rahman considered that the Arab-Chinese partnership has moved to a new stage since the establishment of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum, adding, "We have a common desire to develop and strengthen the strategic partnership with China."

Regarding the Taiwan crisis, the Algerian Prime Minister affirmed that "the Arab countries did not lag behind in supporting the one-China principle and policy."

He also praised the common stance towards the Palestinian issue, "which represents the central issue in the Arab world, which necessitates intensifying efforts to find a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to it."

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on December 5 the signing of the executive plan for the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the tripartite plan for cooperation in key areas with China from 2022 to 2024, according to a statement issued by the Algerian Foreign Ministry.

Algeria and China have also signed the second five-year comprehensive strategic cooperation plan that aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different fields, including economy, industry, energy, space, and culture.

Earlier today, the opening session of the China-Arab summit started, with the participation of Algeria. Three Chinese-Arab summits will be held in Riyadh, from December 7-10, in the presence of 30 leaders of international countries and organizations. During the summits, ways to enhance joint relations in all fields and prospects for economic and development cooperation will be discussed.
