The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the provocative statements made by the Minister of Finance of the Israeli occupation government, Bezalel Smotrich, regarding the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Algeria "equally condemns Smotrich's use of the expansionist occupation map that included the lands of the sister nation of Jordan, as well as the lands of Palestine."

The Foreign Ministry indicated that "this aggressive behavior, which is added to the series of systematic violations committed by the occupation forces against the Palestinian people, their property and sanctities within a very dangerous expansionist scheme, constitute a flagrant violation of international norms, and push towards escalation to detonate the situation, which threatens regional peace, security, and stability.”

The Algerian Foreign Ministry also called on the international community, and in particular, the United Nations Security Council, to assume its responsibilities by protecting the rights of the Palestinian people, establishing their independent state with al-Quds as its capital, and upholding the sovereignty of this state, as well as the sovereignty of all countries in the region, including that of the Kingdom of Jordan.

Last Sunday, during his participation in an event in Paris, Smotrich, who heads the Religious Zionist Party, appeared giving a speech before a map of the so-called "Greater Israel" that included Jordan and the occupied Palestinian territories.

He claimed that "there is no such thing as Palestinians because there is no such thing as a Palestinian people."

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned the provocative and racist statements of Israeli occupation Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich who claimed that "there is no such thing as Palestinian people."

In a statement, Jordanian Foreign Minister, Sinan Majali, said that Smotrich's actions were "reckless incitement and a violation of international norms and the Jordanian-Israeli peace treaty."

"We also condemn the racist and extremist inciting statements made by the extremist Israeli minister against the brotherly Palestinian people, their right to exist, and their historical rights in their independent and sovereign state on the Palestinian national soil," Majali expressed.

On Tuesday, The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, stated that Smotrich's statements against Jordan reveal the political doctrine of the Israeli entity, and proves that the threat to Jordan is the same as the threat to Palestine, which necessitates conducting a strategic dialogue with Jordan to confront these dangerous trends.

The head of the Hamas movement's political bureau addressed the international community to shoulder its responsibilities toward a terrorist policy that contradicts all international and humanitarian laws and norms.

Today, the Jordanian parliament voted unanimously in favor of expelling the Israeli ambassador to Amman in protest of Smotrich's statements.
