An article titled "Antony Blinken’s horrific stain on Albania and it’s all for George Soros" by the New York Post revealed that US Secretary Antony Blinken has been meddling with the Albanian elections on behalf of color revolution enthusiast and financier, George Soros. Within this context, Blinken is being sued for defamation in the international court.

Blinken, since taking office upon Biden's election, sanctioned former Albanian President and Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who has been in opposition for eight years and is a strong opposition voice against Soros' Open Society Foundations, which has been pushing for "reform" in the country.

The US Secretary of State called Berisha "corrupt" in both a tweet and a statement in April 2021, in addition to accusing him of "undermin[ing] democracy in Albania" and banning him and his family from visiting the US.

However, all allegations are provided sans proof, which caused Berisha to deny them all and accuse Washington of upholding the current Albanian government - led by PM Edi Rama - which is allied with Soros.

"Never in my life was I accused by a person or an institution of corruption," Berisha spoke from Tirana, Albania in a phone call. "The opposite was true. I worked very closely with the US government in fighting corruption."

Persona non grata

Berisha, an opposition leader, revealed that the US sanctions against him were a response to his attempt to declare Soros as "persona non grata" upon realizing the dishonest influence of Soros' Open Society Foundations on Albania.

"I’ve never had a personal problem with George Soros. The problem is first he helped Albania to have civil society and I was thankful, but in a short time, it became crystal clear that he was creating a monastic model of civil society," he said.

"The Soros group dictated everything. So we have now a justice system totally controlled by the government... The heads of judiciary institutions, in violation of constitutional laws, are, for the moment, former Communist prosecutors."

Blinken's family ties to Soros

Writer Matt Palumbo, in his new book The Man Behind the Curtain: Inside the Secret Network of George Soros, reveals that Blinken's father, Donald Blinken, who was the former US ambassador to Hungary, funded the Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives at a Budapest university - the Central European University in Budapest - also founded and funded by Soros.

Donald Blinken is on the Board of Trustees for the university, for which Soros served as chairman.

After Blinken was crowned Biden's secretary of state, Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet said this was "great news for George Soros."

US representative Lee Zeldin demanded Blinken justify why he's doing what he's doing in Albania.

“This is now my third request for additional information since raising the issue of sanctioning Sali Berisha with Secretary Blinken during the June 7, 2021, House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing,” Zeldin wrote.
