Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett views Iran as having crossed "red lines" in regards to its nuclear program.

In a speech before the UN General Assembly, Bennett reiterated that "Israel" stands firm in its position to ensure that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons, revealing that "Israel" has grown impatient with the slow-moving progress of Iran's nuclear talks.

Bennett said that Iran "seeks to control the region under the nuclear umbrella, planning to cover the Middle East's skies with deadly drones."

The Likud party commented on Bennett's speech, expressing that Bennett blew his chance at taking advantage of an important international platform.

The Israeli website Walla reported that the Likud party compared Bennett's speech to former Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's speeches, who, unlike Bennett, "pushed Israel's interests into the global stadium."

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian revealed that Iran will return to the special negotiations aiming to revive the 2015 nuclear deal "very soon".

A senior US official previously revealed that Washington is still interested in the talks, and the opportunity remains open, but will not remain so forever.
