Prisoners Committee: Rumors about suspending or postponing the strike are false.

The Palestinian Prisoners Information Office announced that 1,200 prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons will start Thursday an open hunger strike as a first regiment, as part of the confrontation steps taken by the Supreme Emergency Committee of the Captive Movement in protest of the measures of the Israeli Prisons Authority against prisoners.

On its part, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs confirmed that the decision of the Supreme Emergency Committee to carry out an open hunger strike on Thursday is still effective, pointing out that its suspension depends on responding to the demands that were submitted Wednesday to the Israeli Prisons Authority and its intelligence.

The Commission explained that rumors about suspending or postponing the hunger strike are false, adding that the Supreme Emergency Committee announced that its steps are indivisible and its demands are clear from day one.

The Commission also indicated that the decision to start the strike on Thursday evening was agreed upon by all the members of the Captive Movement and that the Supreme Emergency Committee responsible for the strike circulated this decision to all prisons and detention centers.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs called on all Palestinians to prepare to engage in this battle as soon as the prisoners begin their strike, urging all media and activists to be careful so as not to turn into a burden on prisoners and detainees.

Captive Movement calls on people to launch support campaigns

Hours before the prisoners begin their open hunger strike, the Palestinian Captive Movement said in a statement, "This is our last message before we start the open hunger strike this evening."

The Movement expressed that "we lead this strike with national unity and we hope that it will extend and encompass the entire homeland and all the arenas of confrontation with the occupation."

"We call on our people once again to launch the largest campaigns of support and solidarity with their fellow brothers in their battle of empty stomachs," the Palestinian Captive Movement concluded.

Earlier today, Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation related in the context of the comprehensive attack on the Captive Movement that special repression units in the Prison Service stormed all sections of "Ramon" Prison.

IOF storm all sections of "Ramon" Prison

On Wednesday, the Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies said the prisoners' demands are to end all punishments imposed on them following Operation Freedom Tunnel, foremost of which is the decision to transfer life-sentenced prisoners and to end the policy of solitary confinement, which has recently escalated significantly.

The Center indicated that the demands also include increasing the items allowed to be purchased in prison, improving the conditions of detention for ill prisoners and providing them with the necessary treatment, and limiting the use of the arbitrary administrative detention policy.

Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation said Wednesday that the repression units of the Israeli Prisons Authority stormed all sections of Palestinian prisoners in "Ramon" Prison and carried out a fierce attack against the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) prisoners.

The foundation added that the occupation units brutally and violently suppressed and abused the prisoners, amid rising tension in all the prison's sections.

For its part, the Palestinian Prisoners Information Office said that tension in "Ramon" Prison raged after the Israeli Prisons Authority wanted to carry out its so-called security examination of the prisoners' rooms.
