Kyiv attacks result in the destruction of 5 houses, victims

The office of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC) has reported 82 violations of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian armed forces over the past day.

"The daily summary of ceasefire violations for the period from 01:00 GMT on February 19 to 01:00 GMT on February 20. Over the past day, the representative office of the Donetsk People's Republic in the JCCC reported 82 violations of the indefinite ceasefire regime by the Ukrainian armed forces," the office said in a statement.

120-mm caliber projectiles prohibited under Minsk Agreement used

DPR’s JCCC also reported that Kyiv forces have shelled the outskirts of the city of Donetsk using artillery prohibited under the Minsk agreements.

According to DPR, Kyiv forces have fired four 120-mm caliber projectiles at Staromykhailivka and twenty-four 120-mm caliber projectiles at Spartak, located in the Donetsk suburbs. The settlement of Zaitseve in DPR was also shelled.

In a later update on Sunday morning, the DPR said that Spartak was shelled again, and Kyiv forces have also fired at the Donetsk state chemical products plant using 120-mm caliber projectiles.

Sounds of explosions and artillery fire coming from the outskirts of Donetsk were heard across the Donetsk city center in the early hours of Sunday lasting for three hours straight at night. Window glass and frames were rattling in the city’s central Voroshylovskyi District.

The actions of the Ukrainian armed forces, who attempted to attack positions of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), resulted in the destruction of five residential buildings and casualties among the civilian population, the LPR people's police said on Sunday.

"The criminal actions of the Ukrainian armed groups led to the destruction of 5 residential buildings and casualties among the civilian population. Additional data is being specified," the police said in a statement.

The authorities of the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republic started the evacuation of civilians to Russia on Friday, fearing military aggression by the Ukrainian government. DPR head Denis Pushilin expects Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to order an offensive against the self-proclaimed republics in the near future.
