The Al-Quds Brigades' Jenin Brigade told Al Mayadeen that it claims full responsibility for the detonation of an IED which targeted the Israeli occupation forces' armored carrier.

The brigade deployed an "Al-Tamer" explosive device, which was named after martyr Tamer Azmi Al-Nasharti, in the Jenin refugee camp on June 19.

The Resistance group confirmed that the device was locally produced by its freedom fighters, and that Al-Nasharti played a role in its development before he was martyred by Israeli forces.

They further added that the direct hit on the APC in the Jenin camp disabled it, directly killing some of the transported troops and injuring the rest. They also told Al Mayadeen that the fighters of the Jenin Brigade and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades targeted an Israeli military utility vehicle that attempted to tow the damaged armored carrier.

The Al-Quds Brigades also claimed full responsibility for targeting an Apache helicopter, which attempted to ensure the escape of ambushed Israeli troops, during its low-altitude flight, as the Brigades confirmed direct hits that damaged the aircraft.

In their statement to Al Mayadeen, the Brigades challenged the Israeli occupation to reveal the actual number of Israeli military casualties from Monday's Operation Fury of the Free.

The Resistance groups reaffirmed the unity of Palestinian factions and their well-maintained relationships with all freedom fighters, especially affiliates of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades.

Israeli media shocked by the Jenin ambush

"The soldiers fell for an ambush in Jenin that included a highly-explosive IED, just as Hezbollah used to do in Lebanon," the Israeli Walla! website reported. "The IED seemingly weighs around 40kg."

The IOF's efforts to rescue its soldiers went on for over an hour, an Israeli military source told the outlet. "The Home Front Command warned that the rules of engagement are changing after the incident caught them by surprise."

"The vehicle that was hit was made to tank IEDs and gunfire, therefore they are checking whether the IED that did this damage is locally produced or was smuggled into the area," the source added.

"The IED destroyed the back of the vehicle, and the moment the soldiers got out of it, [the Palestinian freedom fighters] started shooting at them," he added. "We are not talking about a single case now, as we saw a sharp increase in the range of explosive devices used against Israeli forces last month."

Israeli KAN broadcaster military affairs correspondent Itai Blumental said: Jenin was undergoing a "'Lebanonization' process," which he said was "extremely worrying".

"The Israeli forces have been conducting arrest and raid operations in the West Bank for a year and a half, but Palestinian attacks have not decreased there. On the contrary; their methods have evolved," Israeli Channel 12 military correspondent Nir Dvori noted.
