The head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki

The head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, stressed Monday the need for the next Iraqi government to be a government that serves all Iraqis.

In a Tweet, Al-Maliki stressed that the next Iraqi government must not be exclusionary, abolitionist, or marginalizing any party that participated in the political process and the elections, or those who did not participate or withdrew.

A few days earlier, the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Faleh Al-Fayyad, confirmed that he is not a candidate for the prime minister position, pointing to the need for a prime minister who is able to succeed while providing all the conditions that contribute to this success.

In the same context, the Iraqi parliament ended its extraordinary session after completing the vote on the amendments to its internal system and after new MPs took the constitutional oath following the resignation of the Sadrist movement parliamentary bloc, amid a long-running dispute over the formation of the government.
