Confrontations erupt in the village of Albu Bali after an ISIS attack

Al Mayadeen sources in Iraq reported that the death toll from an ISIS attack in the village of Albu Bali in Diyala Governorate has risen to eight.

The sources explained that the attack in the village of Albu Bali began when ISIS targeted a vehicle carrying a number of villagers, adding that as the residents gathered to transfer the injured, they came under heavy ISIS fire, which left several killed and wounded.

Al Mayadeen correspondent said confrontations broke out in the village of Albu Bali following the ISIS attack.

On Saturday, at least nine members of Iraq's federal police were killed in an attack near Kirkuk in the country's north, according to two police sources, who accused ISIS terrorists of the attack.

A couple of days ago, a member of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) was killed and two others were injured when an explosive device detonated in Salah Al-Din Governorate.

For more than a year, the frequency of armed attacks increased, especially in the area between Kirkuk, Salah Al-Din, and Diyala, also known as the "triangle of death."

While ISIS is still active in some northern and eastern provinces, the Iraqi government is struggling to contain the terrorist organization's attacks by launching intense security and military operations to pursue the remnants of ISIS.
