Israeli President Isaac Herzog

The Israeli media confirmed that “Israel’s” President Isaac Herzog's upcoming visit to the UAE on Sunday “represents a message of support to the United Arab Emirates in its war on Yemen."

The Emiratis "want more than moral support" and discussed "Israel's role in supporting the UAE in light of the US' neglect and its firmness to reach an agreement with Iran", according to Maariv newspaper.

On his account, UAE Ambassador to “Israel” Mohamed Al Khaja, announced, on Saturday, that the UAE will receive Israeli President Isaac Herzog, next Sunday, in an official visit that was previously scheduled on January 9 and was postponed due to Covid 19.

In a tweet, the Emirati Ambassador wrote that “the President will participate in the celebration of the Israeli National Day, which falls on January 31, at the World Expo.”

“We look forward to this historic visit, which will enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries, as we aim to sign important economic and trade agreements between the two countries in the near future," he added.

Earlier, the Consulate General of “Israel” in Dubai stated that “Herzog will make a historic visit to the UAE at the end of the month”.

The Israeli newspaper “Israel" Hayom revealed that Isaac Herzog will be traveling with his wife and will meet Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his trip.

Furthermore, the Israeli President is scheduled to meet with the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdullah bin Zayed, Dubai ruler Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, senior government officials, and members of the Jewish community in the country, the newspaper added.

The Israeli president will also visit the Dubai Expo.

It is worth noting that Yemen's Armed Forces have recently issued a new warning to the Emirates to target more locations in retaliation to the targeting of Yemeni civilians, including the Dubai Expo.

"Israel" grew very concerned following a tweet by Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, knowing that the timing of the tweet whereby he threatened the Dubai Expo raised talks in Israeli media, which said that the threat coincided with Herzog's upcoming visit.
