London: Demonstrations against surging prices, calls for Johnson's resignation.

Demonstrators gathered in London to protest against the rise in gas and electricity prices, demanding the resignation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The demonstrators reached Johnson's residence and demanded his resignation, while other protests reached other cities, especially in Liverpool and Manchester.

The price threshold for gas and electricity has been raised by 54% in Britain, which suppliers cannot bypass. The changes took effect in April when the regulator updated the price cap.

83 climate activists were arrested for shutting down oil stations

At the same time, British police said they had arrested 83 people in Essex, east London, within 48 hours, after climate change protesters closed the country's oil stations.

Hundreds of activists from the Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil groups began closing oil terminals across Britain on Friday and some supporters of the groups boarded oil tankers as part of a campaign to force the government to end its dependence on fossil fuels.

Essex Police said in a statement that they arrested 63 people on Friday after protests in three locations. 20 others were arrested on Saturday.

Police said the people were arrested on suspicion of committing a variety of crimes.
