Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that Iran's nuclear industry’s accomplishments mirror "how the country’s beloved youth and scientists turned threats and sanctions into opportunities.”

Raisi made these remarks during his visit to the exhibition of Iranian nuclear capabilities in Tehran on Sunday.

“We need to spread the capabilities and technologies acquired in the nuclear industry to other industries, especially the automotive sector so that they could reach this stage of success,” he added.

He also emphasized how nuclear technology has improved people's lives, particularly in the fields of health and medical, business, and gas industries.

The Iranian leader also praised nuclear technology as "one of the country's great honors," stressing that Iranian scientists had the determination to use their expertise to develop nuclear capabilities saving millions of people from illness.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Raisi rebuffed the notion that the creation of power lies in the production of nuclear arms, assuring the nuclear industry has generated power for Iranians.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly announced that it will never go after the production of nuclear weapons given its religious beliefs and the emphasis of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, even though such a capability exists in the country,” he tersely stated.

It is worth noting that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015 granted Iran sanctions relief in exchange for restrictions on its nuclear program, ensuring that Tehran could not create a nuclear weapon, which it has long denied seeking.

Moreover, the US withdrawal from the accord in 2018 under then-president Donald Trump and the reimposition of biting economic sanctions prompted Iran to begin rolling back on its commitments.

On-again, off-again talks to resurrect the deal with France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, and China, as well as the United States, have faltered in recent months.
