Oxfam’s blockade of Yemen stunt in front of the US Capitol (Oxfam)

On Monday, nationwide rallies took place in Sanaa and 13 governorates across Yemen, under the slogan, "The blockade on oil derivatives is an American decision, and our choice is Yemen Hurricane!"

The Minister of Media, Dhaif Allah Al-Shami, regarding this momentum, said the Yemeni people are "unbreakable" and that although the war has been ongoing for 7 years, "the enemy has failed to break their will."

Al-Shami proudly said that "the hopes of the coalition of aggression were shattered under the feet of our people, and our people today have become an example of pride, dignity, patience, and steadfastness."

He continued to assure that the leadership will continue to be backed by the people and that the Yemenis will not be deceived by the lies of the coalition of aggression and their tools, stressing that they will continue to march until the liberation of Yemen, ridding all conspiracies against it.

"The blockade of oil derivatives is an American decision, and our choice is Operation Yemen Hurricane," a statement from the marches read, noting that "the besieging of the port of Al-Hudaydah is an American aggression that requires everyone to mobilize and express rejection against the criminals led by the US administration."

The statement considered that "confronting Washington's siege and aggression is a legitimate struggle and a sacred duty for all Yemenis," stressing that "our people's choice in the face of American crime is the Yemen Hurricane [operation]," which would be done by mobilizing and funding the fronts against the aggressors.

According to the statement, the closure of the port of Al-Hudaydah is a closure of the main lifeline of Yemen - it prevents the entry of fuel, food, and medicine, which constitutes a "well-known war crime."

The statement also held the international community and the United Nations "fully responsible for their silence toward the ongoing crimes of the coalition of aggression and its siege on our people," noting that "the suffering of citizens in the occupied areas reveals that the coalition's agenda targets all Yemenis without exception."

"The right of our people to access oil derivatives is a basic right guaranteed by all international laws and covenants," the statement asserted, adding that all free peoples in the occupied territories must "rise in the face of the coalition of occupation and mercenaries."
