Dead Israeli settlers lie covered in 'Sderot', 'Israel', on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023 (AP)

Israeli media confirmed that the settlement of "Sderot" had entered a state of emergency, stressing that its mayor called on settlers to "barricade themselves in their homes" and conserve water, food, and electricity "due to the complex security situation."

Confrontations are ongoing in "Sderot" as well as other settlements around the Gaza Strip.

Earlier in the day, Israeli media also reported an exchange of fire between the Israeli occupation forces and Resistance fighters who “infiltrated the area at an intersection near Sderot.”

A number of IOF soldiers were reported wounded as a result of the ongoing confrontations. Moreover, Israeli media wrote that ground reinforcements from elite IOF troops were deployed as fears of underground tunnels grew and confrontations intensified.

In turn, as part of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the al-Quds Brigades confirmed that they targeted the “Sderot” settlement with missile attacks. For their part, the al-Qassam Brigades fired a large missile salvo of 100 missiles at the settlement.

1000 dead Israelis & over 150 captured by Hamas: Israeli Media

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that recent estimates indicate that the number of Israeli deaths has reached 1,000, and the number of prisoners captured by the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza has exceeded 150.

The newspaper noted that among those dead were 73 soldiers, including five from the elite Golani Brigade, and several high-ranking military commanders such as Colonel Roi Levy and Colonel Jonathan Steinberg, who served as the commander of the Nahal Brigade, as well as the commander of the communications battalion, the deputy commander of the Maglan unit, a company commander, a platoon commander in the Home Front Command, the commander of the 481st Computer Battalion, and crew commander in the Duvdovan unit.

Moreover, Israeli media confirmed the presence of senior officers among the Israelis kidnapped by the Palestinian resistance, who have reached at least 150 prisoners.

On the third day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, "Israel" still has no control over the Gaza Strip and Israeli media quoted the head of the National Security Council confessing he made a mistake when he said that "Hamas has been deterred for 15 years."
