A shooting in the Israeli settlement of “Carmel”

An Israeli settler was shot and moderately injured in the Israeli settlement of “Carmel”, south of the occupied West Bank, on Thursday night, Israeli media claimed.

The reports added that the settler, moderately injured, was transferred to “Beersheba’s Soroka” hospital.

Simultaneously, Israeli occupation forces said dozens of troops had been deployed to the scene, Israeli media reported.

The reports claimed that the shooting was allegedly carried out by a Palestinian who managed to enter the “Carmel" settlement and shoot a settler. No information has been received about the fate of the man who allegedly carried out the operation.

Palestinians in the occupied West Bank have long been forced to resist the Israeli settlers and the IOF's violence on a daily basis. Settlers usually attack Palestinians and their homes, smashing citizens' vehicles, storming holy sites, throwing stones, and shooting live bullets all while being protected by the IOF.

IOF killed at least 90 Palestinians this year, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The martyrs are mostly teens and children, not to mention veteran journalist — Al Jazeera’s Shireen Abu Akleh.

And to add insult to injury, IOF began August 5 its aggression on the Gaza Strip, which left more than 50 martyrs, including 16 children.
