The foreign ministers of Iran and Iraq met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference

Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Saturday, during a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Fouad Hussein, that his country is ready to continue talks with Saudi Arabia, and that this depends first and foremost on Riyadh's will.

The two foreign ministers met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, where they discussed bilateral issues and the latest regional and international developments.

Iraq's Foreign Minister said that his country is looking to conduct direct regional dialogues that include regional countries, according to a statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

Amir-Abdollahian also discussed internal developments in his country with his Iranian counterpart, especially the domestic situation after the elections, as well as the Vienna Talks and diplomatic efforts to aid in their success.

Raisi to Macron: Any agreement in Vienna must include sanctions removal from Iran

In another context, earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi told his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in a phone call, that the political claims being made to keep up the pressure against Tehran undermine the probability of reaching a deal.

Raisi also said that his country has presented constructive proposals during the talks and has repeatedly declared that it welcomes initiatives that preserve the rights of the people of Iran.

He stressed that any agreement in Vienna must include sanctions removal, guarantees, and provide an end for pending issues and political claims.

For his part, Macron stressed that good progress has been made in the Vienna Talks and that it is hoped the negotiations would be concluded as soon as possible, adding that the talks should not be affected by political pressure.
