Former US President Donald Trump is now joking about the situation in Ukraine and apparently has a very creative solution to end the ongoing crisis.

Addressing about 250 top Republican National Committee donors in New Orleans on Saturday, Trump jokingly said that the US should "put the Chinese flag" on F-22 fighter jets and "bomb the s*** out of Russia."

“And then we say, China did it, we didn’t do it, China did it, and then they start fighting with each other and we sit back and watch,” he joked.

Trump: "I knew Putin very well"

It is noteworthy that the former president has repeatedly discussed withdrawing Washington from NATO during his term in office, describing the alliance as no more than a “paper tiger”.

He also criticized US President Joe Biden's way of handling the current situation, pointing out that “I knew Putin very well. He would not have done it. He would have never done it.”

In a different context, Trump reiterated his previous claims about the "rigged" US presidential race, stressing that he had won Georgia, Wisconsin, and other states, blaming Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg for allegedly affecting the vote.

Recognition of DPR & LPR "smart"

Trump also faced backlash for describing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recognition of the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics as “smart”.

“So, Putin is now saying, ‘It’s independent,’ a large section of Ukraine. I said, ‘How smart is that?’ And he’s gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That’s strongest peace force…That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen," he stated during The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show in late February.

“Taiwan is next”

A few days ago, the former US President claimed China would mobilize its forces to allegedly "invade" Taiwan following Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.

“Taiwan is next,” Trump said in an interview with Maria Bartiromo, host of Fox Business' “Mornings With Maria."

China considers the island of Taiwan an integral part of its territory and thus has long sought to reincorporate it into the mainland, constantly criticizing the US attempts at militarizing Taiwan.

Beijing believes a formal declaration of Taiwan independence would cross its "red line" and has warned that such a step could trigger war.
