Yemen: Fuel ships are hijacked by the US, coalition warships

The Executive Director of the Yemeni Oil Company, Ammar Al-Adra'i, stated that the US warships and the coalition of aggression are hijacking fuel ships and preventing them from entering the port of Al-Hudaydah and taking them to the port of Jizan, despite obtaining UN permits.

He explained that in 2021, the piracy of fuel ships intensified, and only 5% of Yemen's fuel needs were released.

The Director believed that obtaining fuel through the occupied ports costs about 50% more than importing it through the port of Al-Hudaydah.

He added that the Yemeni people incurred $6 million during the year 2021 as levies to obtain fuel through the land ports, which went to the pockets of mercenaries, indicating that the fuel tanker travels 1,300 km on a long route fraught with dangers, armed points, and levies for mercenaries until reaching the free zone.

Adra'i accused Britain and the United States of America of managing the systematic policy of piracy of fuel ships and the blockade of oil derivatives, intending to achieve political and military objectives.

He added that the mercenaries of the aggression impose 6,300 riyals for every 20 liters as additional illegal royalties borne by the citizens.
