Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Ronaldo confirmed on Wednesday that Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has received a formal proposal from a Saudi club.

On Twitter, Romano confirmed that Ronaldo has received a formal proposal from Saudi football club Al Nassr worth almost €200m per season until 2025.

The journalist said that a big part of the proposal "is sponsor deals, so it’s not clear yet if image rights can be agreed," pointing out that nothing has been done, signed, or decided yet.

"Cristiano, focused on World Cup," he concluded.

Shortly after his contract with Manchester United was terminated last week, CBS Sports reported that Al Nassr is ready to offer Ronaldo a contract that extends over three years, estimated at around £186 million, and has already held serious negotiations with Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes.

It's noteworthy that the Portuguese star received and declined a similar offer last summer to join the Saudi league.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Saudi Arabia's Sports Minister, told TalkTV last week that he would "love" to see Ronaldo play for a Saudi club after his departure from Manchester United.

"Anything is possible, I would love to see Ronaldo play in the Saudi league," he expressed, indicating that the move "would benefit the league, the sports eco-system in Saudi and it will inspire the youth for the future. He's a role model to a lot of kids and has a big fanbase in Saudi."
