"We are being killed at the hands of the Israeli occupation, slaughtered, and tortured under the nose of the international community." In an exclusive interview for Al Mayadeen, Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal painted a grim picture of the unfolding humanitarian crisis in the besieged Gaza Strip. Basal revealed that children in northern Gaza are now exhibiting signs of severe dehydration due to prolonged food shortages. "In the coming days, we may witness pictures of malnourished children coming out of Gaza," he warned, describing the dire reality for families trapped in the besieged area. Basal emphasized that Gaza has been enduring over 400 days of what he described as a campaign of "true extermination" by Israeli occupation forces. "This is not a war," he stated, as "a war implies two equal armies." "What is happening in Gaza is an outright aggression on civilians," he asserted.
