In a recent interview for Al Mayadeen, Scott Ritter, former US Marine Corps intelligence officer, addressed the awaited Hez-bol-lah response to the Israeli terrorist attacks on Lebanon, targeting pagers and walkie-talkies. Ritter asserted, "Hez-bol-lah has every legal authority to respond in a manner which would bring harm to Israel" but has strategically avoided escalation to prevent a wider war, as the broader goal is ending the "Israeli" war on Gaza not defeating "Israel". He emphasized that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon's primary objective is to support H-am-as and keep global attention focused on the ongoing war on Gaza, rather than shifting it to a potential war with "Israel." Ritter also noted that he interpreted Sayyed Hassan's recent speech as a signal that Hez-bol-lah intends to prioritize maintaining pressure on "Israel" over immediate retaliatory strikes, reinforcing their commitment to pressuring the Israeli occupation and helping the Palestinian Resistance.
