Marvel’s Captain America sparks outrage and boycott calls over ties to 'Israel'

Marvel Studios is facing backlash over its latest film, Captain America: Brave New World, which features the controversial Israeli superhero Sabra, played by Israeli actress Shira Haas. While the character, originally portrayed in the comics as a Mossad agent and IOF soldier, has been rebranded as a US official, this does not erase the film’s underlying ties to "Israel." During "Israel’s" war on Gaza, calls to boycott the movie intensified, with protesters disrupting the Los Angeles premiere and online campaigns urging audiences to boycott and skip the film. The boycott aligns with a broader push to hold corporations accountable for their connections to "Israel."
