Tunisian activist tears down Carrefour banner, holds Palestinian flag
Tunisian activist Mohamed Amin Twihri, a member of the Tunisian Carrefour boycott campaign, was arrested after tearing down Carrefour banners during the national team’s match against Malawi. His protest was part of a broader campaign targeting companies accused of supporting the Israeli genocide. During the game, Tunisian fans rallied behind Twihri, chanting in his support. Meanwhile, the Tunisian Football Federation faced backlash for continuing to promote brands linked to the boycott. Following his detention, Twihri was taken to the Judicial Police Brigade Center in Megrine, accompanied by his lawyer, Rafed Rabah. Outside the center, a large crowd gathered, awaiting the results of the investigation and the Public Prosecutor’s ruling, who then decided to detain Twihri.
