Zelensky welcomes Ukraine-Russia 30-day ceasefire, thanks Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed a 30-day ceasefire proposal discussed at a Ukraine-US meeting in Saudi Arabia, calling it a "positive proposal" that applies across all battlefronts, not just air and sea operations. Although Zelenskiy did not attend the talks, he expressed optimism about the agreement. Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry said it didn't rule out contacts with the United States' representatives over the next several days, state news agency RIA reported, after US President Donald Trump said that there would be a US meeting with Russia later Tuesday or Wednesday. Trump voiced support for the ceasefire, stating he hopes Russia will accept the proposal. He also mentioned inviting Zelensky back to the White House after their tense Oval Office meeting last month. Washington also announced the immediate resumption of intelligence-sharing and security assistance to Ukraine.
